Our client, a company building large scale compute infrastructure for AI, is looking for a Principal Operations Engineer for electrical systems.They acquire power, design and build data centers and operate them, accelerating toward 100 GW by the end of the decade. The Data Center Operations team runs flawless operations inside live construction zones and sets the operating model rather than inheriting one. This role is the most senior technical authority for operational electrical systems across the portfolio. Base salary is $150,000 to $250,000 plus equity.Role & Responsibilities:- Act as the most senior technical authority for operational electrical systems across the estate- Own the operational electrical stack including switchgear, UPS, generators, paralleling, ATS and STS, PDUs and EPMS in live critical environments- Author and execute high risk electrical MOPs- Lead root cause analysis on significant electrical events through to closure- Walk into any site, assess operational readiness, audit posture and raise the standard- Build the technical readiness of teams around you ahead of activationSkills & Experience:- Career running mission critical electrical systems, coming up through the trades, the field or both- Command of switchgear, UPS, generators, paralleling, ATS and STS, PDUs and EPMS in live 24/7 environments- Track record authoring and executing high risk electrical MOPs- Proven root cause analysis leadership on significant electrical events- Ability to audit operational posture across sites and teach the teams around you- Bonus: hyperscale or large colocation at hundreds of MW, NETA and NFPA 70E, EPMS platforms, arc flash and electrical safety program ownership, Uptime Institute
