Our client, a company building large scale compute infrastructure for AI, is looking for an MV/HV Electrical Engineer on their Design team, with locations available in New York, Austin, San Francisco or remote in the US.They partner with top AI labs, governments and enterprises to unlock compute at speed, acquiring power, designing and building data centers and operating them. This role covers substation and interconnection design through the medium voltage distribution backbone of their campuses, plus protection schemes, acting as technical leader on utility scale interconnections at 138kV and above. Base salary is $180,000 to $270,000 plus equity.Role & Responsibilities:- Lead substation and interconnection design for utility scale interconnections at 138kV and above- Support medium voltage distribution design across data center campuses- Own protection schemes including protection coordination, relay setups and sequences of operation- Work directly with utilities, ISOs, third party engineering firms and equipment manufacturers- Own the technical quality of HV and MV designs across the portfolio- Establish engineering standards that will scale across dozens of sitesSkills & Experience:- 8+ years in electrical power system design focused on HV and MV systems, substations or utility scale interconnections- Experience in data center or mission critical MV distribution design- Strong working knowledge of protection coordination, relay setups and sequences of operation- Proficiency with SEL, Schneider, Siemens or ABB relay platforms and digital substations- Proficiency with power systems analysis software such as ETAP or SKM PowerTools- Preferred: ERCOT, PJM, MISO or CAISO interconnection experience, NERC familiarity, HV/MV commissioning, and fuel cell, on-site generation or battery storage integration
