Our client, a large employee owned engineering and construction firm, is looking for an Air Quality and Noise Department Manager, with multiple locations available.The business is 100% employee owned with an ESOP, and runs global practices across environmental services. This role holds full managerial responsibility for a department within a global practice or regional office, owning financial performance, team development and technical quality. Compensation is $150,000 to $400,000 depending on experience, qualifications and work location, plus eligibility for a discretionary year end incentive bonus. Travel is around 25%.Role & Responsibilities:- Provide managerial direction and leadership to an air quality and noise department, building a high performance team- Own profitable growth of the department, with staffing levels and assignments meeting project requirements while maintaining billable goals- Direct and coordinate work assignments and review performance to ensure cost effective use of staff- Manage the department budget and prepare monthly workload and financial reports for regional and global practice management- Provide expert level technical and design guidance and support- Own recruitment, development, training and retention of staff, along with QA/QC adherence and safety complianceSkills & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology or environmental science- Extensive air quality and noise consulting experience within a global practice or regional consultancy- Proven people leadership including performance evaluation, hiring and retention- Strong commercial and financial management across department budgets and billable targets- Ability to collaborate with business development managers and project managers on proposals to secure work- Strong project management skills, a strategic perspective and proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
